Legacy Grant Recipients Announced
The Aqua Foundation for Women is proud to announce their first ever Legacy Grant recipients. The Legacy Grants will be awarded at the Aqua Foundation for Women’s First Annual Garden Party, which will be held at The Shore Club (entrance on 20th and Collins) in Miami Beach, on February 20 from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
In addition to the awards presentation, the Garden Party will include delectable hors d’oeuvres by Catering by Alyse, cocktails featuring their very own Aquatini, sexy sounds by DJ/Producer Alyson Calagna, and a fabulous silent auction to benefit future grant recipients and scholarships.
The Aqua Foundation for Women, entering their 8th year funding LBT issues in the South Florida community, has created a new category of funding for those organizations who have consistently demonstrated their commitment to the Foundation’s mission: to promote the equality, strength, health, and visibility of South Florida lesbian, bisexual, and transgender women.
The Legacy Grant recipients are: the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, The Gay and Lesbian Community Center, Safe Schools South Florida, and Pridelines Youth Services. AFW is also pleased to announce that in addition to the newly created Legacy Grants, they will continue their existing annual grants program, beginning in the third quarter of each year, which will provide grants up to $50,000.
The Garden Party is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased at the event for $30, in advance for $25 through the Aqua Foundation website (www.aquafoundation.org) or by calling the Aqua Foundation office at 305-576-2782.
