$20,000 in Grants Co-Presented with the Women's Fund of Miami Dade County

In December of 2007 the Aqua Foundation for Women partnered with the Women's Fund of Miami-Dade County to provide $20,000 in grants to two deserving LBT focused organizations and projects. This is an addition to our own grant cycle we currently have underway. Board member, Laura Steckler, who assisted in facilitating this co-sponsor relationship with the Women's Fund said "It was powerful to see what this collaboration could do for women, and we are excited to foster this working relationship with the Women's Fund, so that we may provide needed funding and support to the under-served lesbian, bisexual and transgender community of South Florida."

AFW and the Women's Fund presented two $10,000 grants, one to Pridelines Youth Services to provide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth with leadership training, experiential workshops and coaching in a supportive community and one to Project Yes to provide educational workshops on gender and communication to lesbian, bisexual, and transgender women throughout Miami-Dade County.
